The Dalmore Port Wood Cask Reserve is an unusual single malt from the Highland distillery. It starts the maturation process in ex-bourbon barrels before exactly half the whisky is removed and placed in port pipes from Graham's vineyard. The liquid is then all placed back into ex-bourbon barrels so that it can settle and marry back together.

Dalmore Port Wood Reserve is a complex and rich whisky that deserves to be savoured straight up. The 46.5% abv was especially chosen as the sweet point for this dram as it allows the port influence to shine whilst still retaining the classic Dalmore character. The nose offers dark fruit, sweet toffee and tart oranges. The orange continues through to the palate and is joined by caramel, nuts and coffee with the finish revealing cherries and sultanas.
