Grown on clay topsoil over limestone subsoil, its 25 to 30 year-old vines impart deep complexity, intense black fruit character, and an attractive streak of minerality. Vineyard & Production

The grapes are cultivated on the Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes and Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse plateaus at high planting densities of 6,600 to 9,000 vines per hectare. Yields are kept low at 35 to 40 hectolitres per hectare to maximize concentration. Following harvest, the fruit undergoes cold soaking, temperature-controlled fermentation with gentle punching down, and an extended 3 to 4 week post-fermentation maceration. The wine is then matured in oak barrels prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-purple colour. The nose opens with plush yet lifted aromas of ripe blackcurrant, dark cherry, and subtle cedarwood, accompanied by a soft hint of creaminess. On the palate, it is rich, layered, and full-bodied, displaying deep red and dark fruit flavours supported by fine, velvety tannins and expertly integrated oak. It finishes long, structured, and exceptionally elegant.
