Clonakilty Port Cask Finished Irish Whiskey is a deeply expressive, maritime-influenced release crafted along the rugged coast of County Cork. Initially aged in carefully selected ex-bourbon barrels, this grain and malt blend undergoes a transformative finish in ruby port casks sourced directly from the Douro Valley in Portugal. Bottled without chill-filtration to preserve its natural viscosity and rich reddish hue, it delivers an harmonious balance of sweet stone fruit, warming spice, and gentle ocean air. It serves as a sublime dram to enjoy neat, or alongside dark artisan chocolate and mature blue cheese.

The aromatic profile opens with an enticing, fruit-forward bouquet of fresh cherries, ripe raspberries, and plum jam, beautifully complemented by top notes of sweet vanilla, toasted hazelnut, and soft citrus zest. On the palate, this Irish whiskey offers a silky, rounded mouthfeel bursting with flavours of dark chocolate truffles, stewed blackberries, and sultanas, perfectly counterbalanced by hints of cracked black pepper and warming oak spice. The tasting experience finishes long, dry, and exceptionally smooth, leaving a lingering, luxurious trail of red berry compote, cocoa, and gentle coastal salinity.

Hailing from Clonakilty Distillery in West Cork, this family-owned producer brings a deep respect for coastal agriculture and traditional craft to every release. Utilizing maritime warehouses perched on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, the spirit matures in unique microclimates where salt-laden breezes subtly influence the wood. By marrying time-honoured Irish whiskey-making techniques with world-class cask finishing, Clonakilty creates whiskies of exceptional elegance, depth, and distinct coastal character.
