Clonakilty Bordeaux Cask Finished Irish Whiskey is an elegant, wine-cask influenced release crafted along the Atlantic coastline of West Cork. Matured initially in premium ex-bourbon casks, this exceptional whiskey undergoes a refined secondary maturation in hand-selected red wine casks from prestigious châteaux in the Bordeaux region of France. Presented non-chill filtered and at natural colour, it exhibits a rich amber hue with rose-gold glints and a luscious, fruit-driven profile. It makes a magnificent digestif, pairing beautifully with dark chocolate, charcuterie, or roasted venison.

The aromatic profile opens with a sophisticated bouquet of blackcurrant, dark cherry, and summer berry compote, complemented by top notes of sweet vanilla, toasted brioche, and gentle oak tannins. On the palate, this Irish whiskey displays a silky, rounded mouthfeel overflowing with flavours of ripe plum, bramble fruit, and dark chocolate, seamlessly balanced by a hint of spice, toasted almonds, and subtle wine acidity. The tasting experience finishes long, dry, and refined, leaving a lingering, luxurious trail of dried red fruits, dark cocoa, and gentle coastal air.

Hailing from Clonakilty Distillery in County Cork, this family-owned oceanfront producer is celebrated for its commitment to local provenance and maritime aging. Maturing its casks in warehouses directly exposed to the Atlantic Ocean, the distillery allows the salt-tinged air and microclimate to gently interact with the spirit through the wood. By combining traditional Irish distilling heritage with meticulous European wine cask finishing, Clonakilty creates whiskies of remarkable balance, depth, and distinct coastal elegance.
