The Clió DO Jumilla is a classic, full-bodied red from Jumilla, combining power and elegance. Rich and concentrated, it displays ripe cassis, coffee, and liquorice aromas, with a palate of spicy, smoky fruit and firm, structured tannins.

Meet the Producer

Bodegas El Nido was founded as part of a visionary quality wine project by Miguel Gil in 2002. Located in the Valle de la Aragona, Jumilla, the winery focuses on creating authentic, expressive wines from old-vine Monastrell and carefully selected Cabernet Sauvignon. High altitude vineyards and a long growing season contribute freshness, ripe tannins, and exceptional concentration.

Production

Grapes are harvested in small baskets to prevent bruising and undergo careful selection. Fermentation and maceration are followed by 24 months ageing in new French and American oak barrels, bringing structure and complexity while highlighting the ripe fruit character.

Tasting Notes

Dark cherry red in colour, with an intense nose of ripe cassis, toasted coffee, and liquorice. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, showing spicy, smoky fruit, savory undertones, and firm but elegant tannins, all balanced by finesse and depth.

Pairs beautifully with grilled or barbecued meats, including peppered steaks and lamb kebabs, or other rich, hearty dishes.
