Château Lynch-Bages is a historic estate located in the heart of Pauillac, Bordeaux. Classified as a Fifth Growth in the 1855 Médoc classification, it has long surpassed its ranking in reputation and quality. Under the stewardship of the Cazes family—first Jean-Michel and now his son Jean-Charles—the château has undergone significant modernisation, including the construction of a state-of-the-art winemaking facility. Despite its evolution, Lynch-Bages remains deeply rooted in tradition, producing wines that are both timeless and forward-looking.

Terroir

The vineyards of Château Lynch-Bages stretch across the gravelly soils of the Pauillac appellation, renowned for their excellent drainage and heat retention. These deep gravel beds, interspersed with clay, provide ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon to thrive. The proximity to the Gironde estuary moderates temperatures, offering a balance of warmth and freshness that contributes to the wine’s structure and ageing potential.
