Chateau de Saint‑Pey Saint Emilion Grand Cru is a classic right bank Bordeaux from the renowned Saint‑Émilion Grand Cru appellation in France. Crafted by the historic estate at Saint‑Pey d’Armens, the wine reflects the region’s signature elegance, marrying ripe red fruit character with refined structure and harmonious balance characteristic of fine Bordeaux.

Vineyards

The grapes are sourced from vineyards planted on gravelly, sandy, and clay‑influenced soils around Saint‑Pey. These well‑drained terroirs encourage deep root growth and promote concentration in the fruit, with Merlot as the dominant variety complemented by Cabernet Franc (and a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon), producing concentrated yet elegant wines.

Winemaking

Harvested at optimal ripeness, the fruit is destemmed and fermented in temperature‑controlled vats. After fermentation, the wine is aged for approximately 12–14 months, predominantly in French oak barrels (with a proportion of new oak), allowing integration of subtle oak spice and enhancing texture while preserving the wine’s fruit purity and finesse.

Tasting Notes

The wine displays a deep ruby colour with expressive aromas of ripe red and black fruits, such as raspberry, blackberry and blackcurrant, accompanied by gentle roasted and spicy oak nuances. On the palate it is balanced and harmonious, with velvety tannins framing rich fruit flavours and a lingering, elegant finish that underscores its Bordeaux pedigree.
