Chateau Bechereau, Lalande de Pomerol 2022 is a plush, right-bank Bordeaux that showcases ripe Merlot fruit wrapped in velvety tannins and complemented by Cabernet Franc spice. Polished and approachable, it offers a generous core of black fruit, subtle oak influence from élevage, and a soft, lingering finish ideal for near-term drinking.

Meet the producer

Château Béchereau is a family-owned estate with vineyards across several Right Bank appellations near Libourne. Rooted in generations of viticulture, the domaine focuses on producing terroir-reflective wines that balance traditional winemaking with careful vineyard management.

Production

Vineyards are worked with targeted canopy management and selective picking. Approximately half the harvest is fermented in stainless steel and the other half in oak, followed by around 12 months ageing in French oak barrels to integrate tannin and oak while preserving fruit purity.

Tasting notes

Deep garnet in colour, the nose displays black cherry, plum and cassis with gentle toasty oak and sweet spice. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with ripe black fruit, smooth, polished tannins, balanced acidity and a savoury finish.

Food match

Pairs well with roast beef, leg of lamb, charcuterie and mature cheeses; also suits classic French bistro dishes.
