A complex and expressive Carménère from the Los Lingues vineyard in Chile’s Colchagua Valley. Intense violet-red in colour, it opens with aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry, fig, cassis, chocolate, and cedar. The palate is elegant and refined, showing medium-high acidity, silky and well-integrated tannins, and a floral, spicy character leading to a persistent finish.

Meet the producer

Casa Silva is one of Chile’s most prestigious and awarded family-owned wineries, with a legacy of excellence spanning five generations. Situated in the Colchagua Valley, at the foothills of the Andes, Casa Silva is celebrated for its pioneering work in identifying distinct terroirs and crafting wines that authentically express their origins. The Los Lingues estate, located on the northeastern edge of the valley, has become a benchmark site for premium Carménère, producing wines of exceptional depth and elegance.

Production

The grapes are hand-harvested and chilled before processing, with meticulous manual selection of clusters and berries. After a 10-day cold maceration, fermentation occurs in French oak tanks for 16 days at controlled temperatures, followed by 15 days of post-ferment maceration. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in 500L barrels, then matures for 12 months—80% in French oak and 20% in stainless steel—before a further 4–5 months in bottle prior to release.

Tasting notes

Deep violet-red in colour with aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry, fig, cassis, chocolate, and cedar. The palate is medium-bodied with bright acidity, silky tannins, and layers of spice and florality, finishing long and elegant.

Food match

Ideal with bacon-wrapped beef fillet, roasted vegetables, or chargrilled lamb. Serve between 15–16°C. Enjoy now or cellar for up to 15 years.
