Casa Silva S38 Single Block Cabernet Sauvignon is a refined and structured red wine from the Los Lingues vineyard in Chile’s Colchagua Valley. Ruby red with violet tints, it shows aromas of plums, blackberries, ripe blackcurrants, vanilla, leather, eucalyptus, and tobacco. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with medium-high acidity, abundant ripe tannins, and a long, elegant finish.

Casa Silva is a family-owned winery recognized for producing terroir-driven wines of exceptional quality. Situated at the northeastern edge of the Colchagua Valley, the Los Lingues estate benefits from a unique microclimate at the foothills of the Andes, producing premium Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère with distinct character and elegance.

Production

Grapes are hand-harvested, chilled, and carefully selected before fermentation. Cold maceration lasts 10 days, followed by alcoholic fermentation at 26–28°C. Post-fermentation maceration is monitored daily to achieve optimum extraction. Malolactic fermentation occurs in barrels, with 80% of the wine aged for 12 months in French oak and 20% in stainless steel. A further 6 months of bottle ageing precedes release.

Tasting notes

Ruby red with violet tints. Aromas of plums, blackberries, ripe blackcurrants, vanilla, leather, eucalyptus, and tobacco. Medium-high acidity, good structure, and abundant, ripe tannins with an elegant, long finish.

Food match

Pairs beautifully with grilled vein loin, roasted or layered vegetables such as potato mille-feuille. Serve between 16–18°C. Drink now or cellar for up to 15 years.
