Distillery & Production

Produced at Caol Ila Distillery on Islay, founded in 1846 and situated on the shores of the Sound of Islay. The distillery uses clean water from Loch Nam Ban and traditional copper pot stills. Moch is selected purely on taste profile rather than age or cask type, representing the distillery's commitment to flavour-first whisky making and showcasing the pure Caol Ila character.

Tasting Notes

The nose reveals wet, salty sand after the tide has receded, with antiseptic and lingering smoke notes. Light and smooth body. The palate is sweet and salty with a balancing acidity and characteristic antiseptic character. The finish is short and drying with a little bitterness and a lingering smoky aftertaste.
