With Caol Ila being world known for their peatiness, this is something a little out of the ordinary. A special release from 2017, this dram is matured in refill American Oak casks. This unusual unpeated 18 year old Caol Ila has an appetising salty edge that is clean and fresh as the pale sky that follows clearing rains, while it is crisp, smooth with hints of fruit with their wild strawberry sweetness dance boldly across the tongue like flecks of foam over wind lashed waves.
