Caliterra Tributo Carmenere is a beautifully expressive red wine from the Colchagua Valley, crafted with precision and respect for its terroir. With its vibrant purple-red colour and complex aromas, this Carmenere showcases the unique character of one of Chile’s most celebrated grape varieties.

Caliterra, based in the heart of the Colchagua Valley, is renowned for producing wines that balance elegance, freshness, and a true sense of place. The Tributo range highlights individual vineyard blocks and showcases the harmony between varietal expression and sustainable winemaking.

Production

Sourced from the Boldo block of the Caliterra Vineyard, the vines thrive in colluvial soils rich in deep clay with a northeast exposure. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks with selected dry yeasts, lasting 23–30 days at controlled temperatures of 24°–28°C. The wine underwent full malolactic fermentation and matured for 12 months in second- and fifth-use French oak barrels, preserving purity while adding subtle complexity.

Tasting Notes

Tributo Carmenere opens with intense aromas of ripe red fruit alongside classic herbal notes, evolving into hints of blueberries, tarragon, bay leaf, and earthy undertones. On the palate, it is fresh, vibrant, and fruit-driven, with soft textured tannins, balanced acidity, and impressive volume. This is a wine of elegance and energy, with excellent ageing potential through 2029.

Food Pairing

This Carmenere pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, grilled vegetables, or spicy dishes with fresh herbs. It also complements mushroom risotto, charcuterie, and aged cheeses.
