Domaine Boutinot Sélection Parcellaire ‘La Truffière’ is a limited-release cuvée from the southern Rhône, produced from a single hillside parcel in Cairanne known for its exceptional Syrah and Grenache. Only 2,400 bottles were made from the 2024 vintage. Vinified and aged in large foudres, the wine captures both freshness and elegance, showcasing the depth and finesse characteristic of this high-quality terroir. The result is a layered, complex red with remarkable balance and ageing potential.

Meet the producer

Boutinot has been making wine in the southern Rhône for over thirty years, developing long-standing relationships with growers and vineyards throughout the region. Their philosophy combines a deep respect for terroir with a modern understanding of winemaking, producing expressive wines that reflect the distinctive character of their origins. Under the guidance of winemaker Nicolas Rager, Boutinot Rhône continues to craft small-parcel wines that exemplify precision, purity, and balance.

Production

La Truffière was both vinified and aged in a 60HL French oak foudre. Fermentation was temperature-controlled and never exceeded 24°C to maintain aromatic integrity and freshness. A gentle, low-extraction approach—almost in an infusion style—was used to highlight the purity of fruit and natural texture. Initially intended for blending into Les Six and Côte Sauvage, this parcel stood out for its distinctive quality and was bottled separately as a Sélection Parcellaire.

Tasting notes

Aromas of black olive tapenade and dark violets unfold alongside hints of liquorice and chocolate. On the palate, supple tannins frame peppery red and black fruit flavours, leading to a vibrant, expressive finish with earthy and spicy undertones.

Food match

Ideal with grilled lamb or hearty stews seasoned with Herbes de Provence. Also pairs beautifully with aged, hard cheeses that complement the wine’s savoury, earthy character.
