Bonal was invented by Raphael Bonal in 1865 and it has not changed in that time. He lived in the Chartreuse mountains and during this time collected many plants to research their meditative qualities. This aperitif is made from gentian roots, orange peel and cinchoa, infused in mistelle aperitive.
