The Bodega Urqo Los Durmientes Malbec is an approachable yet structured Malbec from the Valle de Uco, sourced exclusively from the Urquia family’s Tupungato vineyards. Named after the railway sleepers (“durmientes”) lining the vineyards, this wine showcases the minerality, graphite notes, and rich fruit typical of high-altitude Uco Valley Malbec.

Located near the mountain town of Tupungato, the Urquia family manages 300 hectares of desert-soil vineyards, crafting wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Valle de Uco. Their focus is on purity, site expression, and exceptional value in every bottle.

Production

Made from 100% Tupungato Malbec, grown on deep sandy soils with limestone seams. A touch of oak adds subtle complexity without overpowering the fruit. The vineyard’s distinctive terroir shapes the wine’s structure, mineral notes, and aromatic profile.

Tasting Notes

A classic Uco Valley Malbec with a graphite and floral nose, a mineral-rich palate, and firm structure. Juicy red and dark fruits mingle with earthy undertones, producing a versatile and food-friendly wine.
