Boccantino Primitivo Susumaniello Salento IGT is a vibrant red wine showcasing the best of Southern Italy’s Salento region. The wine is made from a blend of 70% Primitivo and 30% Susumaniello. The vines are carefully tended to ensure low yields and concentrated flavours, with hand harvesting selecting only the best bunches.

Vineyard and Terroir
Grapes are sourced from sun-soaked vineyards in Salento, Puglia, where the Mediterranean climate and fertile soils create optimal conditions for producing ripe, aromatic fruit.

Winemaking
After harvest, fermentation takes place with careful temperature control to preserve fruit intensity. Part of the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness and purity, while another portion is matured in large oak barrels to add complexity, depth, and subtle spice notes.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows deep ruby colour with pronounced aromas of prunes, blackberry, and black pepper. The palate is full-bodied, warm, and expressive, offering ripe dark fruit flavours complemented by gentle oak nuances. Smooth tannins and a lingering finish make this wine approachable yet complex.

Ideal with roasted meats, game, pasta with rich sauces, and mature cheeses.

This blend undergoes a final aging in bottle for 3 months after spending separate ageing time in oak barrels.
