Meet the Producer

Blandy’s Madeira has a long history of producing high-quality fortified wines from the island of Madeira. The house combines traditional winemaking techniques with meticulous vineyard and cellar practices, producing wines that reflect the volcanic soils, Atlantic climate, and unique heritage of Madeira.

Production

The grapes are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and undergo careful fermentation before extended barrel ageing in warm conditions, following the traditional estufagem method. This slow maturation develops aromatic intensity, complexity, and depth. Multiple barrels are blended to ensure balance, consistency, and a rich, elegant profile.

Tasting Notes

The wine exhibits a deep amber hue with expressive aromas of caramel, roasted almonds, dried apricots, and a touch of spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with sweet richness perfectly balanced by vibrant acidity, leading to a long, elegant, and lingering finish.
