Bella Modella is thoroughly contemporary in its approach, producing stylish, fine yet affordable wines. Their range includes this Modella Primitivo, a fruit-driven, elegant red that exemplifies the charm and intensity of modern Puglian winemaking.

Viticulture

Grapes are grown in medium-textured soils over tufaceous limestone, benefiting from mild, slightly rainy winters and hot, dry summers with good natural ventilation. These conditions help develop the intensity, structure, and aromatic purity of the Primitivo grape.

Winemaking

The grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place with 8–10 days of maceration to achieve optimal colour intensity, using selected yeasts at controlled temperatures below 28 °C. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks under nitrogen to prevent oxidation, with at least 6 months of maturation before cold bottling via an isobaric filler.

Tasting Note

A full-bodied, rich and rounded red, displaying intense fruit flavours and elegant structure. This Primitivo showcases the varietal’s natural warmth and depth, making it a superb example of Puglia’s native wines.
