The ancient and largely unchanged land of Sicily is beautifully expressed in the wines of Baglio Gibellina. The name ‘Baglio’ refers to the estate’s original courtyard, once surrounded by warehouses used for grape collection and processing. Nestled in a valley between the hills of Salemi and Santa Ninfa, the estate is framed by rolling vineyards, broom, and prickly pear. Vines grow at altitudes of 300–600 metres on a mix of clay and volcanic soils, producing wines that combine authenticity, tradition, and effortless drinkability.

Viticulture

Grapes are cultivated on sandy soils at 200–250 metres above sea level. Harvesting takes place once the fruit reaches optimum phenolic and aromatic ripeness.

Winemaking

Vinification follows traditional red maceration methods in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures, preserving freshness and fruit purity.

Tasting profile

A bright ruby red colour with a purple edge. The bouquet is invitingly fresh, with aromas of red berries and wild fruits. On the palate, it is lively, soft, and supple, brimming with juicy fruit and easy charm.

Food pairings

A versatile wine, ideal with cheeses, salami, pasta, and pizza – the perfect companion to simple Mediterranean flavours.
