Meet the producer

Founded in 1904 in Marlenheim, Arthur Metz is a historic Alsace producer renowned for its mastery in creating fruit-based spirits and wines. The house combines traditional methods with meticulous fruit selection to deliver eaux-de-vie of exceptional purity and elegance.

Production

Fully ripe Williams pears are hand-selected, lightly pressed, and fermented before being distilled in traditional copper pot stills. The spirit is then rested in stainless steel or neutral oak tanks to preserve the pear’s natural aroma and freshness. No additives are used, ensuring a clean and authentic expression.

Tasting notes

Clear in the glass, the nose offers intense pear aromas, subtle floral notes, and hints of honeyed sweetness. The palate is smooth and refined, with vibrant Williams pear flavour, gentle warmth, and a long, elegant finish highlighting the fruit’s purity.

Serving suggestion

Serve neat at room temperature or slightly chilled as a digestif. It also works beautifully in cocktails or as a flavourful addition to desserts, such as poached pears or tarts.
