Meet the producer

Founded in 1904 in Marlenheim, Arthur Metz is a historic Alsace producer, celebrated for its mastery of fruit-based spirits and wines. The house combines over a century of distillation knowledge with careful selection of local fruits to create eaux-de-vie of exceptional purity and character.

Production

Fully ripe mirabelle plums are carefully selected, lightly pressed, and fermented before being distilled in traditional copper pot stills. The distillate is rested in stainless steel or neutral oak tanks to preserve the fruit’s aromatic freshness. No additives are used, ensuring a clean and authentic expression of the mirabelle plum.

Tasting notes

Crystal-clear in the glass, this Mirabelle Eau de Vie offers a fragrant nose of golden plums, subtle floral notes, and hints of honey. On the palate, it is smooth and elegant, with concentrated plum flavours, a gentle sweetness, and a long, clean finish that highlights the purity of the fruit.

Serving suggestion

Serve neat at room temperature or slightly chilled as a digestif. It is also excellent in cocktails or as a flavourful addition to desserts such as tarts or flambéed fruits.
