Ardbeg An Oa is a rounded, smoky Islay single malt whisky that blends intense peat with sweet and spicy complexity, making it one of the more approachable expressions from Ardbeg.

Named after the Mull of Oa, a rugged peninsula that shelters the Ardbeg distillery from Atlantic storms, An Oa reflects this protective character with a softer, more balanced profile. It’s matured in a unique combination of Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, ex-bourbon barrels and virgin oak, then married in Ardbeg’s bespoke Gathering Vat to harmonize the flavours. Bottled at 46.6% ABV, it is non-chill filtered, preserving its full texture and depth.

The nose opens with candied orange peel, cigar smoke, and char, followed by hints of mulled lemon, clotted cream and figgy pudding. On the palate, it begins with a burst of fruit and sweetness, then transitions into smoky peat, with notes of apricot, lemon, and subtle spice. The finish is long and warming, with lingering smoke, oak and a touch of sweetness, offering a well-rounded Islay experience.
