Contacto Alvarinho is crafted exclusively from the noble Alvarinho grape, grown in the Monção and Melgaço sub-region of Portugal. This unique location, bordered by mountains along the Spanish frontier, provides an ideal temperate climate with the perfect balance of precipitation, sunlight, and temperature for optimal grape maturation. Vineyards are planted near the river on granite soils with sandy loam texture, low altitude, and rich alluvial terraces, imparting complexity, minerality, and elegance to the wine.

Viticulture

Grapes are hand-harvested into small boxes and quickly transported to the winery to preserve freshness. Vineyards are carefully selected for their ideal terroir, including granite soils, sandy loam textures, and favourable river proximity.

Winemaking

The grapes undergo total de-stemming and a short skin maceration. Cold clarification is carried out at 12ºC, followed by controlled fermentation to maintain the wine’s aromatic purity, structure, and finesse.

Tasting Note

Pale lemon in colour, Contacto Alvarinho displays pronounced mineral intensity on the nose with delicate citrus aromas. The palate reveals complexity with notes of grapefruit and tea, complemented by a creamy texture and subtle untuosity. The finish is long, elegant, and persistent. Best served chilled at 10–12ºC.
