An Cnoc 18 years old is made at the Knockdhu distillery in speyside. Unusually their malts are not named after the distillery as with most others Scotch Malts, but after their source of water the Ancnoc Hill just above the distillery. This 18 years old has been matured in a combination of ex sherry casks and Bourbon barrels with no chill-filtering. The nose has gentle spices with sweet, dried fruits, chocolate, oranges and leather. On the palate the taste is full-bodied, spicy with candied citrus peel, then becoming bigger with vanilla, caramel and honey. The finish starts peppery then softens with a sweet finish.
