The Quinta dos Quatro Ventos Tinto is a rich and characterful red wine from the fabled terraced vineyards of the Douro Valley. Made with hand-harvested grapes from old vines, this Douro red delivers depth, fruit intensity and a distinctive sense of place.

Meet the Producer

Produced by Bacalhôa (formerly Aliança), one of Portugal’s largest and most progressive wine producers, with over 600 hectares of vineyards across five key wine regions. Their focus on tradition combined with innovation has made them one of the country’s most respected names.

Production

Grapes are hand-picked from selected vineyards in the Douro Valley, where old vines grow on steep schist terraces known as patamares. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures of 30°C, followed by 10–12 days of skin maceration to achieve optimal colour, flavour and tannin structure.

Tasting Notes

This wine shows earthy blackberry aromas layered with hints of warm vanilla spice. The palate is generous and ripe, with flavours of dark plum and blackberry leading to a long, characterful finish.
