Description
Maison Saint Aix is nestled in the rolling hills of Provence, northeast of Aix-en-Provence, and is one of the largest domaines in the AOP Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence, covering 75 hectares. At 420 metres above sea level, it is also among the highest vineyards in the region.
Meet the Producer
Maison Saint Aix is a family-owned winery, established in 2009. Drawing from one of Provence’s most celebrated terroirs, AIX Rosé is crafted to express the purest essence of a rosé wine. Over the last decade, the estate has evolved, yet the ancient stone gateway that welcomes visitors remains a constant—a symbol of openness, where the vines meet the sky, and the sun ripens generous grapes.
Terroir
The vineyards are planted on soils that are predominantly stony clay-limestone, sandy or gravelly, or stony with a clay-loamy sand matrix, on the terraces of the Arc and the Durance. The vines sit at an altitude of 400–420 metres, benefiting from hot days, cool nights, and regular Mistral winds. These conditions are ideal for Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault, the principal varieties of AIX Rosé. The estate maintains a replanting programme of up to four hectares per year, ensuring a balance between the character of its 50–60-year-old Grenache vines, which provide concentrated, high-quality juice, and the freshness of younger vines.
Wine Style
AIX Rosé is born from generosity and celebration. It is a wine designed for sharing—a glass with friends, a meal, a story, a moment. Known for its elegance and vibrancy, it has become a benchmark for Provence rosé, admired both for its quality and its striking large-format bottles.
Grape Varieties
Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault
