Admiral Rodney HMS Formidable Gold Rum comes from St. Lucia Distillers, a producer known for its characterful pot‑still rums and long tropical ageing. The Admiral Rodney series pays tribute to the British naval commander who helped secure Caribbean trade routes in the late 18th century, with each bottling named after a ship in his fleet. HMS Formidable was Rodney’s flagship during the Battle of the Saints in 1782, and the rum reflects that sense of prestige through a richer, more mature blend. The components are typically aged between 9 and 12 years in ex‑bourbon barrels, giving it greater depth and structure than the younger expressions in the range.

Its aroma shows warm caramel, rich oak, vanilla, dried fruit and a touch of baking spice. On the palate, it offers a smooth, layered texture with notes of toffee, raisins, gentle spice, toasted oak and a subtle roasted character from extended ageing.
