Organic and biodynamic excellence
Emiliana has been a pioneer in chemical‑free farming since the late 1990s, converting hundreds of hectares to organic and biodynamic management long before sustainability became a global trend. Today, the winery holds multiple international certifications, including Regenerative Organic Certified®, one of the highest standards in sustainable agriculture. These practices support biodiversity, animal welfare, and soil regeneration, resulting in wines that are vibrant, pure, and naturally expressive.
A diverse portfolio shaped by terroir
From the crisp coastal freshness of Casablanca to the rich, sun‑drenched fruit of Colchagua, Emiliana’s wines showcase the breadth of Chile’s landscapes. Flagship labels such as Coyam, Gê, Novas, Adobe, and Signos de Origen have earned international acclaim for their balance, depth, and authenticity. Many of these wines have become benchmarks for sustainable winemaking in South America.
Why Emiliana resonates with modern wine drinker
Consumers increasingly seek wines that are not only delicious but responsibly produced. Emiliana meets this demand with a philosophy rooted in environmental stewardship and social responsibility. Its vineyards teem with life—cover crops, native flora, bees, and even roaming animals—all contributing to a self‑sustaining ecosystem that enhances grape quality and protects the land for future generations.
The Emiliana History
Emiliana’s story begins in the late 1990s, at a moment when the global wine market was starting to shift. Consumers were becoming more conscious of what they were drinking—not only in terms of personal wellbeing, but also in relation to environmental impact and social responsibility. It was during this period that brothers Rafael and José Guilisasti recognised that Chilean wine needed to evolve. Their vision was ahead of its time: a winery built on respect for nature, sustainable farming, and a belief that healthier vineyards would ultimately produce better wines.
To bring this idea to life, they partnered with pioneering winemaker Álvaro Espinoza, one of the earliest champions of organic and biodynamic viticulture in South America. Together, they began the ambitious task of transforming a conventional Chilean winery into a fully organic and biodynamic estate, long before such practices were widely adopted. Their goal was clear—to craft wines of exceptional quality while protecting the land, supporting local communities, and creating a model of agriculture that could endure for generations.
More than twenty years later, that early vision has become a defining part of Emiliana’s identity. What began as a bold experiment is now a globally recognised portfolio of wines, celebrated both in Chile and internationally. Emiliana’s commitment to organic and biodynamic farming has earned it numerous awards and certifications, and its wines continue to resonate with modern consumers who value authenticity, sustainability, and a genuine connection to the land.
The journey from a single idea to one of the world’s leading organic wine producers reflects Emiliana’s belief that great wine is inseparable from the health of the environment and the people who care for it.
