From the very beginning, Grand Marnier was endoed with the unique features for which it is still famous today: the amber-coloured bottle, inspired by the silhouette of a Cognac pot still, the iconic and unique wax seal, certifying the each bottles quality and the redmoir ribbon. The limited edition bottle was first launched by Louis Alexander Marnier back in 1927. In 2003, the collection was revived. Following the success of Edition Irresistible last year, 2010 will be the year of theRubyedition. Decked out in black for the ultimat eelegance an dadorned with a sparkling, captivating ruby-like stone.The jet-black of the bottle is a jewel case that protects the precious liqueur with in while the flamboyant red celebrates its aromatic intensity.. Grand Marnier is unique for being exclusively based on Cognac to give a rich and smooth taste to the orange liqueur.
Its makers, Marnier-Lapostolle, established their distillery at Neauphle-le-Chateau in the 1820's, but only began producing Grand Marnier in 1880.
The cognac is actually aged elsewhere, at Chateau de Bourge in the Charente area.
