Description
Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a piece of liquid history: a premium, hand-crafted bourbon blended from selected whiskeys at one of America's oldest distilleries.
In times before history migrating herds of buffalo carved a path, or trace, through the wilderness of North America and up to the banks of the Kentucky River. During the 18th century pioneers followed their trail, known as The Great Buffalo Trace, and established a settlement in what today is Franklin County. By 1775 they were harvesting American grain, blending it with limestone spring water and distilling whiskey: by 1812, Harrison Blanton was distilling on the site where Buffalo Trace is made today.
Nose: Outstanding aroma, kicked off by a spicy prickle. Satisfyingly deep, gentle vanilla and molassed with even a sprig of sweet mint.
Palate: A rip-roaring waxy sweetness checked by a big build up of vanilla-rich oak. Corn is chewy and rye offers a rich textured background.
