Maisons William Chase Rose Gains Top 10

It seems as if everything William Chase touches turns to gold—especially when it comes to spirits and wine. His 2014 vintage of Williams Chase Rosé has been listed among the top 10 premium rosés in the world, as featured in the September issue of Decanter Magazine. This is no small achievement, particularly given that Chase has only been making wine for a few years.

Seeking warmer climes, William and his wife Kate relocated from their farm in Hereford, purchasing Château Constantin three years ago to expand beyond their excellent vodkas, gins, and liqueurs into the world of Provence winemaking. Their vineyard, located near the village of Lourmarin in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, spans 20 hectares and features vines planted in the 1960s.

Harvested in early September to avoid the late-season rains that can lead to rot, the grapes achieve optimal balance in acidity. The winemaking process includes a 24-hour cold maceration followed by several months of lees aging, enhancing the wine’s complexity.

Provencal rosé is immensely popular in the UK right now, and wines of this calibre make it easy to see why. Not only is Williams Chase Rosé beautifully balanced in flavour, but its presentation is equally refined—housed in a Chase glass bottle with an elegant glass stopper.

Chase's venture into the wines of Luberon has produced a remarkably elegant rosé, embodying the essence of Provence wines. Made from Grenache, Syrah, and Roussanne, it boasts a harmonious blend of white peach and tropical fruits such as pineapple and grapefruit, complemented by spicy notes and mineral complexity. Truly, this wine encapsulates everything one could desire from a Southern French rosé.

The 2013 vintage sold out quickly, so if you want to experience this exceptional wine, grab a bottle here before it disappears. This is the perfect wine to enjoy while the sun is still shining!
