The wines of Terres Fidèles are crafted to capture the essence of south-western France, showcasing old-vine Grenache, Carignan, Malbec, Cinsault, Viognier, and more. Founded by Fergal Tynan MW, the estate focuses on small-batch, authentically made wines that reflect the remarkable landscapes, unique soils, and dedicated growers of the region. Each wine embodies the spirit of the wild vineyards from the Pyrenees foothills to the Mediterranean coast.
Viticulture
Grapes are sourced from mountain vineyards at 240–280m altitude, representing true “heroic viticulture.” Old bush vines, 40–80 years old, grow on steep, rolling sites at the base of cliffs on the northern edge of the Agly Valley near Queribus. Soils are classic schist and gres (sandy) schist. The vines are cultivated at the natural limits of each location, unforced and wild.
Winemaking
Hand-harvested slightly earlier than typical for the region. Fermentation is wild and minimally intervened, with maturation in small concrete vats. No oak is used, allowing the purity and terroir of the Roussillon region to shine.
Tasting Note
A blend of Grenache (60%) and Carignan (40%), this organic top-tier wine combines power with elegance and finesse. Grenache provides dark, brooding fruit, concentration, and rich texture, while Carignan contributes freshness, acidity, and bright fruit notes, creating a beautifully balanced, singular expression.
Food Matching
Pairs exceptionally well with hearty dishes such as slow-cooked stews, goulash, and mild curries.
