A classic and approachable Valpolicella Ripasso, Cantine Riondo 2021 offers rich black fruit and mocha aromas, a full-bodied palate, and a lingering, lightly spiced finish, delivering excellent value with traditional Ripasso character.

Meet the producer
Collis-Riondo is one of the largest producers in Veneto and Italy, collaborating with around 2,400 growers across 6,500 hectares to craft wines that combine tradition, quality, and consistency.

Production
After selecting Valpolicella grapes with high sugar content, vinification occurs using the Ganimede system, continuously mixing grape skins and wine to extract colour and tannins. In winter, the Valpolicella is passed over the leftover Amarone grape skins using the traditional Ripasso method, enhancing alcohol, body, and aromatic intensity. The wine is then aged for 12 months, partly in stainless steel and partly in oak casks.

Tasting notes
Aromas of black fruits and mocha lead to a rich, full-bodied palate with flavours of plum, black cherry, damson, dried figs, and dates, finishing with a warm, lightly spiced, and persistent character.

Pairs beautifully with stewed or grilled meats, roasts, and long-aged cheeses.
