Meet the producer
Founded in 1892 by Giacomo Montresor, this Verona estate has built its reputation on consistently high-quality wines that remain deeply rooted in the traditions of Valpolicella. Today, Montresor continues to honour its heritage with a range of authentic and expressive wines that reflect both place and family legacy.

Production
The wine is produced from Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes grown in hillside vineyards in the oldest part of Valpolicella. Grapes are harvested at full ripeness in late October and laid out on wooden racks in special drying lofts, where they undergo appassimento until February. This drying process concentrates flavours and sugars before the grapes are gently crushed. Fermentation takes place over four months in stainless steel. The wine is then aged for three years, partly in French oak casks and partly in smaller barrels, followed by six months in bottle before release.

Tasting notes
Intensely perfumed aromas of black cherry, plum, violets, coffee and raisins. The palate is smooth and rounded, with layers of dried fruit, spice and supple tannins. Despite its richness, the wine retains freshness and elegance, finishing long, dry and complex with a fine balance between power and delicacy.

Food match
Ideal with red meats, game dishes, or mature cheeses such as Parmesan and Gorgonzola.
