Located just north of Château Beaucastel and neighbouring Château Rayas, Domaine du Grand Tinel has become a benchmark estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The domaine, as it is known today, was founded in 1972 through the marriage of two long-established winemaking families, Establet and Jeune. Today, the property encompasses 56 hectares within the appellation, planted with Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Counoise, Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Bourboulenc, alongside a further 18 hectares dedicated to Côtes-du-Rhône.

Since 2005, siblings Christophe, Béatrice and Isabelle have overseen the domaine, working with renowned oenologist Philippe Cambie. Together, they combine innovation with tradition to craft wines of power and finesse. While Grenache remains the beating heart of the estate, Christophe has introduced Muscardin – one of the lesser-known authorised varieties – to enhance complexity in future blends. In their modernised cellars, Grenache is aged in large oak foudres (2,000L), Syrah in barriques (225L) and Mourvèdre in demi-muids (600L), a tailored maturation process that respects the character of each variety.

Production
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah. Grapes are fully destemmed before undergoing traditional vinification. The wine is then matured for 12–18 months in a combination of large oak vessels, chosen to highlight fruit purity while lending structure and elegance.

Tasting notes
Fragrant with ripe wild berries and cherries, layered with subtle spice. The palate is ample yet refined, with smooth, velvety tannins and a refreshing acidity. A classic expression of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, offering both richness and balance.
