Amativo is made up from a blend of 60% Primitivo and 40% Negroamaro and hosts an aroma that is bold, dark, fruity packed with notes of dried fig, red fruits and a little rose floral notes in the background. The palate is distinguished with good weight and texture. Bold and rich notes of silky cherries, red fruit mixed with chocolate and tannins that carry coffee notes. The finish is spicy with a hint of fruit.

Cantele winery were not satisfied with only producing excellent wines, they have invested time and money into scientific research to advance quality in the entire region; from isolating the indigenous Cantele Negroamaro yeast strains to studying the sensorial impact of Brettanomyces, the Cantele family continue to work tirelessly in the advancement of quality. This avid attention to detail is not just found in the cellar, but also in the vineyards where they have stopped using pesticides and herbicides and are focusing on understanding the potential impact of global warming on their region.
