Meet the Producer

Founded in 1892, Giacomo Montresor is one of Verona’s historic wine houses. With more than a century of experience, the Montresor family has built a reputation for producing high-quality, authentic Veneto wines, with Amarone at the heart of their portfolio.

Production

This Amarone is crafted from a traditional blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes. Hand-harvested in late October, the grapes undergo the traditional appassimento method – dried for four months until January after harvest. The dried grapes are then crushed and fermented in stainless steel for four months. The wine is matured for two years in Slavonian oak casks and small barrels, developing richness and depth while maintaining balance.

Tasting Notes

On the nose, this Amarone is ripe, warm and generous, with aromas of plum, cherry, roasted coffee beans and dried fruits. The palate is full-bodied and richly flavoured, combining berry and plum fruit with wild cherry acidity and a touch of dark chocolate. Supple tannins and a hint of spice lead to a long finish, complete with the classic dry bite of Amarone. A balanced and very approachable style that delivers both power and elegance.

Ideal with mature hard cheeses, blue cheeses, game dishes and slow-cooked beef.
