Three B's Make A Triumphant Return

We have been stocking Knob Creek bourbon for a considerable time now, a small batch premium bourbon that is highly popular. What some of you will not realise is that Knob Creek is part of a rather special set of bourbons which are, rather unimaginatively I must admit, entitled 'The Small Batch Bourbon Collection'. This is pretty much common knowledge in the US but less so on British shores due to the rarity of the other three bourbons in the country. The other three I mention are Bookers, Bakers and Basil Hayden's or 'the three B's' as I like to call them! Each one of these whiskies are premium offerings that and hand crafted in limited numbers from recipes that date back nearly 200 years in some cases. These ultimate expressions of the bourbon arts were created by a man with an impressive legacy; Booker Noe is the grandson of the legendary Jim Beam so you could say whiskey is in his blood! Booker is a sixth generation Master Distiller and he is widely credited with creating the super premium bourbon category when he first coined the phrase 'small batch' in 1992. Upon his retirement he made one simple request to his son; ""Fred, make sure they don't mess with my Bookers!"" The good news is that 'the three B's' have made a triumphant return to us; we used to stock them many moons ago but haven't been able to get our hands on them for awhile. Fear not though, they are back and have taken their rightful place next to their brother Knob Creek on the shelf. If you like quality bourbon, then you're going to want to have at least a bottle each of these bad boys!

Baker's Bourbon 7 Years Old

Aged seven years and bottled at 53.7% ABV; uses a special strain of jug yeast which results in a silky smooth texture and consistent taste from batch to batch. Baker's Bourbon voted “World’s Best American Whiskey,” 2007 Whisky Magazine World Whiskies Award.      

Basil Hayden's Bourbon

Aged eight years and bottled at 80 proof; utilises twice as much rye in it as the other bourbons in the Small Batch Collection giving it a gentle yet spicy flavour. Basil Hayden's Bourbon awarded Gold, 2009 San Francisco World Spirits Competition        

 Booker's Bourbon

Aged six to eight years and bottled between 121 and 127 proof; the only bourbon bottled straight-from-the-barrel, uncut and unfiltered, just like Booker Noe wanted it. Booker’s Bourbon awarded Double Gold, 2009 San Francisco World Spirits Competition        

Knob Creek Small Batch Bourbon

Aged nine years in newly charred oak barrels to obtain sweet vanilla flavours and bottled at 100 proof, this is the number one selling ultra-premium bourbon. Knob Creek Bourbon awarded Double Gold, 2009 San Francisco World Spirits Competition
