Drink Finder Spring Wine Show 2024

Here at Constantine Stores, the home of Drink Finder we brought back the annual wine shows or tastings if you would rather call them that back at the end of 2023 after a long hiatus. The first wine tasting of the year is a Spring orientated showcase of lighter styles, or wines that will go great with a BBQ and can bring you joy over the coming Spring and Summer time as a whole.

For the Spring Wine Tasting 2024, we choose The Princess Pavilion for the location, picked for its central location, great entertaining space and it is near a train station for those wanting to come from further afield. We kept the format to similar as we had such great feedback from the previous tasting, so we whittled 1,500+ wines and an overall catalogue of 5,000+ products down to 120 wines for the attendees to sample and discover.

The popularity of the event returning was highlighted by the speed that the Early Bird tickets sold out. Clearly word had been spread about the previous one held! The Spring Wine Tasting 2024 had 134 people checked in on the night which created a great atmosphere and conversations about all things wine – the room was buzzing!

The evening was a veritable feast for wine lovers, offering guests a chance to delve into a captivating array of both celebrated classics and thrilling new finds. From esteemed wine regions to lesser-known gems, the selection catered to every taste and curiosity. The event transcended a mere tasting; it provided a unique platform to engage with passionate importers and producers, gaining invaluable insights and knowledge directly from the heart of the wine industry.

Helen’s choice was the Heaven on Earth Organic Dessert Wine. “A delightfully refreshing organic after dinner wine from the Western Cape, boasting bright fruit flavours and a gentle sweetness, perfect for a relaxed summer afternoon”.

While James picked the Brunilde di Menzione Primitivo di Manduria Riserva 2020. “A robust and full-bodied Primitivo from Manduria, this Riserva boasts intense aromas of ripe dark fruit, sweet spice, and a lingering finish – I will have to buy some more of this to go with my roast beef dinners!”.
