Description
The 2024 release of the much sought after Springbank Local Barley series, this year we see a 13 year old that has been aged in 60% bourbon and 40% sherry casks before being bottled at 54.1% with no added colour or chill filtration (the tasty stuff). In this whisky the barley is Belgravia, and was grown on Glencraigs Farm in Campbeltown.
On the nose this whisky is packed full of fruitiness, ripened bananas, boiled sweets and cinnamon. The palate is initially thick, chewy and oily in texture. From there it evolves with pepper and malty notes, strawberries, brandy schnapps and parma violets.
