Sloe Gin

Sloe gin is a traditional British liqueur made by infusing sloe berries—the tart, dark fruit of the blackthorn bush—into gin, along with sugar. The result is a rich, ruby-red spirit with a sweet, fruity flavour and a lower alcohol content than standard gin, typically around 25% ABV. Historically enjoyed in winter and often homemade, sloe gin has seen a revival thanks to craft producers who balance its natural tartness with warming notes of almond, spice, and berry. It’s delicious served neat, over ice, or in cocktails like the Sloe Royale (with sparkling wine) or a Sloe Gin Fizz.
