  • Glenrothes 1992 23 years old St Lucia Rum Cask No.#15 55.8% 70cl

This particular whisky was distilled in 1992, and matured until 2014 in Hogshead casks. Having rested in these casks, we then introduced it into a barrel formerly containing rum from Saint Lucia to add an extra layer of complexity to the spirit. The Caribbean boasts a long history of rum distilling, born of the sugar plantations that began to develop in the 17th century. Each country has its unique style and with maturity the full, intense fruit, spice and, often, molasses flavours shine through.

Our whisky experts kept a close eye on the spirit until, at last, it was judged to be perfectly balanced and mature – only then was it bottled. Unchill-filtered, natural in colour and bottled at cask strength resulting in an intense, distinctive and unusual expression.
