    Made very much in the style of it's famous sibling Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label the Ros is dominated by Pinot Noir and uses 100% Premier and Grand Cru grapes.
  • Billecart Salmon Rose 70cl
    The production secrets and the vinification method of this cuvee go back to the origins of the House of Billecart-Salmon and have been handed down for seven generations. The Brut Rose is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir vinified as white wine with a small percentage of Pinot Noir vinified as wine.

    Its pale pink colour is adorned with warm glints of gold, and its delicate, slowly rising bubbles gives it a persistent mousse.

    This Cuve unveils a subtle aroma leading to an elegant, delicate bouquet of fine notes of red fruits.

  • Roederer Brut Rose 2007 Champagne 12% 75cl
    In the development of its rose champagnes, Louis Roederer still uses the skin contact method leaving the black grapes to macerate in the wine press for several hours to extract the pigmenting substances from the must. To confer colour and style, Louis Roederer uses Pinot Noirs from old Cumires vines which produce very ripe grapes of exceptional aromatic depth. The ros wine is then usually left to age for a period of four years, plus an additional six months after disgorgement to ensure perfect maturity.

    Dosage: 11 to 12 grams per litre. The 'liqueur de dosage' is prepared with the greatest of care from a selected blend of 8 to 10 of the very best crus from the Louis Roederer vineyard and then left to age in oak casks.

    Tasting Notes
    Colour: Pink tones with orange, almost ochre highlights. A stream of lively, delicate bubbles.

    Nose: Rich, intense, distinctly red-fruit nose (strawberries, cherries) with sweet floral notes (white flowers) and almost a whiff of stewed fruit. The bouquet is neat, honest and precise.

    Palate: Savoury at first, with a soft, almost caressing texture that gives an impression of great finesse and precision. The mouthfeel is fabulously light, fresh and fruity the complete antithesis of the ripe, warm, dry conditions that characterized this vintage. The wine opens up within seconds to reveal all of its generous volume and substance. Flesh and freshness combine to produce a vinosity that lingers eternally on the finish. An irresistibly airy Champagne.

  • Cristal Rose 2006 Louis Roederer 12% 75cl
    In 1974, nearly 200 years after the creation of the Maison Louis Roederer and 100 years after the creation of Cristal, Jean-Claude Rouzaud decided to create Cristal Ros. To do this end, he selected old vine pinot noir grapes, according to specific characteristics, located on the finest of the A vineyards. Exceptionally, these vines lie on a limestone block with clay and limestone soil and in the best years, the vines achieve extraordinarily mature fruit with a crystalline purity of acidity corresponding perfectly to the Cristal style. Today these vines are organically grown.

    Harvest Report
    An extraordinary year that brought together all the factors that make for a great Champagne year: constantly warm temperatures without excessive heat or sun preceded by a markedly mild winter; a reduction in rainfall (about 20%) during the growth cycle; cool nights and a cold dry north-easterly wind from August to September. These exceptionally favourable conditions combined meant that the grapes matured perfectly and their fl avours were nicely concentrated. Harvesting started 12 September for the chardonnays with an average sugar concentration superior to 11% natural alcohol.

    Wine Making
    20% of the wines vinifi ed in oak barrels with weekly batonnage. No malolactic fermentation. To create Ros champagnes, Louis Roederer still uses the saigne method after cold maceration that can last 5 to 8 days in the liquid phase. Cristal Ros is matured 6 years in the cellar and rests for 8 months after disgorgement to perfect its maturity. Dosage of between 8 and 10 g/l is adapted to each vintage.

    Tasting Notes
    A salmon pink hue, with radiant highlights and incredible youth. A regular, refined and lively effervescence. An intense, rich, bewitching bouquet of red fruit and citrus zest associated with more complex notes redolent of cedar and spring sap. The aromas evolve gently in the glass evolving from dried fruits, fresh almonds and frangipane, to notes of Tarte Tatin, oven-baked apples and caramel. In tastings, the wine is soft and silky on the palate with a marvelous harmony of flavour and concentration of fruit. The attack is fruity and crisp. Finesse and fruit combine to create a full palate that melts in the mouth, giving way to candied citrus and dried fruits.   • Pol Roger Rose 2008 Vintage Champagne 75cl

    Founded in Epernay in 1849 Pol Roger Champagne was the favourite tipple of Sir Winston Churchill. This vintage Brut Rose is based on a blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay from 20 Premier and Grand crus. To obtain the beautiful hue and red fruit aromas, an additional  15% Pinot Noir is added as a vinified rem from Montage Reims from the same vintage.

    This champagne shows fine mousse in the glass (meaning delicate bubbles as opposed to airy Angel Delight!) and attractive pinky colour, and it's good fruity stuff with ripe strawberry and vanilla rolling over your tongue. That's enhanced by classic baked biscuit flavours and crisp yeastiness.

    Producer Details
    The Gremillet estate comprises of 33 hectares of vineyards and is situated in a small village 45 kilometres from Troyes, the historic capital of Champagne, 180 kilometres south of Paris. The vines lie on steep, sun-drenched hillsides, ideal for creating a classic baked biscuit, rich fruit Champagne.

    In the Vineyard
    The Pinot Noir grapes are pressed for up to 2 hours to extract the jus de presse, then vinified and blended to give this delicate and delicious ros Champagne.Champagne must age for a minimum of 15 months before release. Gremillet age all their Ros Champagnes for a minimum of 24 months to ensure that the wines are not too young and have married all the elements.
