From their distillery in the idyllic village of Harrington, Northamptonshire, Warner Edwards have embarked upon a mission to rid the world of bad gin. They have created this gorgeous Warner Edwards Victoria's Rhubarb Gin using the same rhubarb grown by Queen Victoria on the estates of Buckingham Palace over 100 years ago. It is first softened before gentle pressing in a traditional fruit press to extract the rhubarb juice whereupon it's then blended to perfection with their Harrington Dry Gin. Just enough sugar is also added to balance the acidity in order to produce a fabulous gin with big juicy rhubarb flavours and a lovely pink hue.
It's so good that it won a Silver Medal in the International Wines & Spirits Competition 2015.
Warner Edwards opened their craft distillery on the 6th December 2012 in a 200 year old barn on Falls Farm. The water for the distillation of their small batch, hand crafted spirits is drawn from one of many springs that run under the locality of Harrington, hence the common saying that the village is 'built on rock and water'. Part of the farm is recognised by English Heritage as they were once the gardens of an ancient medieval manor house.
