An engaging salmon pink colour enhanced by a fine persistent bead. The wine expresses an assortment of red berries, rose petal, apricot blossom and luscious white peach aromas complemented by complex nougat and yeast aromas. The wine had great length, finishing clean, dry and refreshing.

Producer Details
Described by Robert Joseph as one of the most beautiful vineyards on the planet the rolling hills, sweeping vistas, bluffs and stands of gum trees create a spectacular backdrop. The name originates from an aboriginal word meaning red earth and applies directly to the iron rich red soils of the region. These are classic central Victorian wines, dense, powerful but with a uniquely fine and balanced structure and a marked tannic backbone that allows them to age beautifully. The young but already renowned winemaker Loic Le Calvet studied his craft in Bordeaux but was tempted away to coax the best out of these unique and now fully mature vineyards. Taltarni also have vineyards in Tasmania which contribute to the production of their flagship sparkling wines including the signature Brut Tach Ros.

Taltarnis Brut Tach 2008 is a blend of three classic sparkling wine varietals Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier sourced from our cool climate vineyards in Victorian and Tasmanian wine regions.

In the Winery
Tache is a French word meaning 'stained' and refers to the rare winemaking method used since 1985 by Taltarni to create this fine rose-coloured sparkling wine. It's amazing delicate samlom pink colour is achieved by adding a dash of red wine liqeur to the finished tirage wine at disgorgement. Created from a blend of the three classic sparkling wine varietals sourced from our cool climate vineyards in Victoria and Tasmania.
