  • Ragnaud Sabourin Ier Cru VSOP Cognac 41% 70cl
    he Ragnaud-Sabourin family owns one of the most prestigious private estates in Grande Champagne. The estate was established in 1850 by Gaston Briand, one of the first to push for an establishment of recognised crus. By the middle of the 20th century, the estate was now under the control of Marcel Ragnaud (the son in law of the founder) and he was producing cognacs reputed to be some of the finest in Cognac.
    Today the Domaine La Vote is run by three descendants, from grandmother to granddaughter: Denise, Annie and Patricia Ragnaud-Sabourin. Together they oversee the vines and are wholly responsible for all aspects of production and ageing, always determined to produce limited quantities of the highest quality.
    All their cognacs are matured as vintages; there is no blending between years, no sweetening and no colouring.

    This VSOP is a superb fruity Cognac with a minimum age of 8 years. Excellent.

    Bonneuil 2005 is an exotic cognac, developing powerful aromas of fully matured grapes together with hints of gingerbread, liquorice and oriental spices on the nose. It has great presence on the palate revealing a rich and jam like texture. The warm aromas of honey, pineapple and cloves lead to an oriental finish lingering deliciously on the palate.
