  • Somerset Royal Alchemy 15 years old 42% 70cl
The Somerset distillery matures the brandy in small oak barrels in one of our two bonded warehouses at the other end of the village from Burrow Hill. In the bond, the barrels lose the 'angel share' and absorb all sorts of flavours from the oak. Our colour is natural and from the wood. Over time the brandies soften and mellow. Different oaks affect the character in different ways, so a tasting in the bond is exciting as it is always full of surprises. Sometimes we bottle a barrel as 'single cask' - see the shop. Alchemy is slightly lighter than the Ten Year Old as it is matured in a slightly different barrel mix.

Mellow, rich and smooth. Has finesse and an apple nose. Amazing.

Today it is part of the Leading Italian independent spirits Company, having in its portfolio Vecchia Romagna and Amaro Montenegro: the two largest selling spirits in Italy. Vecchia Romagna is closely linked to the Italian way of life, to its sun, and the unique cultural heritage, presented from the outset of its highly original bottle and the label depicting the Roman god, Baccus.

  • Torres Jaime I Brandy 38% 70cl
The Jaime I brandy has been made with very old soleras aged from selected distilled white wines. Some of the soleras started off as distilled Parellada wines destined for our Torres 10 brandy, and which have been kept aside for many years to create a valuable reserve stock.
These old reserves have been enriched with our best soleras, the oldest being 30 years old. Finally, to complement the aromatic intensity of these brandies with lighter fruity and floral notes, we have added a small amount of 1972 eau-de-vie of Folle Blanche lees, the rarest and noblest of grapes, used to make the highest quality pot still brandies

Jaime I is deep, rich and dark amber in colour. It displays a concentrated complex bouquet, with marked overtones of coconut, dried fruits and spices, typical of lengthy ageing. Round and lush, it has the smoothness that characterises great brandies. Jaime I is complex, majestic, with a lingering finish that leaves a velvety imprint on the palate.
