Distilled in 2005 from fresh, locally harvested sugarcane juice, this exceptional agricultural rum spent fifteen long years maturing in oak barrels nestled within the distillery's coastal cellars. Non-chill filtered and bottled at natural colour, it exhibits a dark amber hue and a deeply complex profile tailored for serious rum collectors. It serves as an outstanding sipping spirit to be enjoyed neat from a tulip glass, allowing its extensive maturation to unfurl gradually.

The aromatic profile opens with a sophisticated, rich bouquet of dried figs, dates, and toasted walnuts, layered over top notes of old leather, polished mahogany, and dark cocoa. On the palate, this vintage rum presents a velvety, full-bodied mouthfeel overflowing with flavours of dark molasses, caramelized orange peel, and pipe tobacco, masterfully balanced by warming wood spice, nutmeg, and dry oak tannins. The tasting experience finishes long, dry, and immensely complex, leaving a lingering, noble trail of dark chocolate, toasted oak, and delicate sugarcane warmth.

Hailing from Destilerías Aldea on the island of La Palma, this historic house continues to uphold traditional methods established in 1936. Utilizing direct wood-fired copper pot stills to process freshly crushed sugarcane juice rather than industrial molasses, the distillery creates pure ron agrícola of remarkable character. By combining artisanal distillation with decade-and-a-half barrel aging in the unique Atlantic microclimate, Ron Aldea Familia 2005 stands as a crowning achievement of Canarian rum production.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0899/6824/7127/files/Ron-Aldea-Familia-2005-15-Year-Old-Rum-70cl.jpg?v=1792490011
