Description
Paolo Leo Malvasia Nera "MoraMora" is a beautifully crafted wine that showcases the depth and complexity of southern Italian winemaking. It has a deep ruby red colour with elegant purple highlights. On the nose, it delivers intense aromas of ripe red fruits, accompanied by subtle hints of plum and spice. The palate is full-bodied and well-balanced, with lively tannins leading to a long and satisfying finish, where lingering red fruit flavours shine through.
Paolo Leo is a family-run winery located in the esteemed wine village of Don Tonaci in southern Italy. Now in its fifth generation, the estate traces its origins to the early 1900s, when Antonio Seo began vinifying grapes at Masseria Monticello. Over the years, the winery has expanded through consistent investment and modernisation, now boasting a production capacity of 20,000 hectolitres and an impressive barrel room housing 2,000 French and American oak barriques. The estate cultivates 50 hectares of vineyards, primarily indigenous grape varieties such as Primitivo, Negroamaro, and Fiano. As a certified organic producer, Paolo Leo adheres to EU and national sustainability standards, ensuring exceptional quality and responsible winemaking.
Malvasia Nera "MoraMora" pairs beautifully with slow-cooked meats in rich sauces, enhancing the deep and savoury flavours. It also complements a variety of cheeses, making it an excellent choice for an indulgent dining experience. Elegant, authentic, and steeped in heritage, this wine embodies the spirit of southern Italy in every glass. Let me know if you'd like any refinements.
